After almost two years on schedule, the Rio de Janeiro 2022 World Boccia Championships are counting down to start! It will be from December 5th to 13th, at the Olympic Park, stage of the Rio 2016 Games.
There are 40 countries confirmed and more than 170 athletes from five continents. Among our neighbors here in the Americas, besides Brazil, are 10 other countries: Argentina, Bermuda, Canada, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and the United States.
Europe is the continent with the biggest number of participating countries (17): Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Asia confirmed eight nations: Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.
South Africa and Morocco are the representatives from Africa, and Australia is the only one from Oceania. And, to close the list of 41 countries, the transcontinental countries include Azerbaijan (Eurasia) and Egypt (Africa and Asia).
